ARTIST REVIEWS

"KRGilman proves herself to be a refreshing new talent with a unique point of view. Her gifts as a colorist, coupled with her considerable draftspersonly abilities, bring her spiritually potent themes vividly alive and infuse her works with their own peculiar poetry." [Maureen Flynn, Gallery & Studio Magazine]

"The art of KRGilman seems to be a child of Spiritual Symbolism and New Age Abstract Expressionism... full of hidden meanings and bright non-realistic colors. She enjoys simplicity in her imagery. Not only because its pleasing to the eye, but also because simple things can mean so much. In the end, the seeds of meaning grow into understanding, and the viewer is able to walk away from her work feeling a more complete visual experience." [World Artist Directory]

"Seeds of Truth and Faith succeeds in blurring the fundamental borders between fauna and flora and opens the door to a world where they may combine." [Christopher Kepple, Mystic River Press]

"Her [KRGilman's For My Sisters Everywhere] work reflects diverse shots of women and captures the strength and beauty that is characteristically female." [Nicole Souza, Mystic River Press]

"I just wanted to congratulate you on a lovely [Celebrating Earth] art show.  I spent time yesterday viewing your paintings which I really enjoyed.  The bright colors are a true spring welcome.  My 2 favorite works were the split painting of the dividing road and the flower picking on the back wall (the bottom of the figure in shorts holding the bouquet).  The dividing road reminded me of Robert Frost's poem - "...two roads diverged in a yellow wood..." - it's one of my favorite poems.  The flower picking reminded me of a treasured Golden Book I had as a child call the Lovely Birthday Present.  A little boy wanted something special for his mom's birthday, so he took his wagon and went hunting for the right gift.  He ended up with a beautiful bouquet of field flowers.  I loved the show...Again - congratulations on a wonderful presentation. [Professor Jennifer O'Donnell, Mitchell College, New London, CT]

"
I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed your [Celebrating Earth] artwork. Considering that I have also enjoyed your performances in the [Pequot] Drama Society as well, you are obviously a woman of many talents!" [Susan Devlin, Director of Human Resources, Mitchell College, New London, CT]
